I know I usually blog about food, but as my waistline has grown, I have decided to branch out and let you know of other cool things you may be missing. This post is the perfect transition to that.
Last Friday marked the Grand Opening of not one, but two new Ross stores in the metro. This marks Ross’ entrance into the Kansas City area. Ross Dress for Less offers first-quality, in-season, name brand and designer apparel, accessories, footwear and home fashions for the entire family at everyday savings of 20% to 60% off department and specialty store regular prices.
I was invited to attend the grand opening event with some other bloggers from KC and the staff treated us like Royalty! I also have to mention that I am thrilled this was in my neck of the woods!
Fist we were taken to breakfast, where we were greeted by a beautifully decorated table with a fabulous canvas tote at each place setting. The Ross executives gave us the scoop on the concept of Ross and the "No Frills, Just Thrills" shopping approach it offers and $50 gift card to Ross to shop with.
The store is great and full of brand name merchandise. There is truly something for everyone and the prices really area amazing. As I chatted with some of the Ross executives, I learned that they really do want to know what their customers want and are always looking for feedback. So if you have a request be sure to let them know. I requested more long and tall items. Being 5'11" and having a daughter that is 6'2" we are forever trying to find things that are long enough!
I was thrilled to find a pair of name brand jeans that were actually long enough, I also got a great figure 8 scarf, pair of tights, monogrammed towels and some fun slippers that double as dust mop to keep the floor clean. (I know kinda cheesy, but fun and they actually work!) I wear them all the time now.
Being that the store is so close to me I have already been back and scored a pair of jeans and a scarf for my daughter. Also being the foodie that I am, I cannot fail to mention the great foodie section Ross has. It is filled with all sorts of goodies.
Now it is your chance just to see how much you can save at Ross by entering the $25 gift card giveaway. Since Ross is new to the metro, to enter please comment below if you have ever shopped at a Ross before and where it was. For additional entries, follow WYMKC on twitter, share this post, and become a fan of WYMKC on facebook leaving additional comments that you did so. Winner will be drawn at random using random.org. Contest ends Sunday, October 14th at midnight. Winner will be notified by email so please be sure to leave a valid email address!

I LOVE ROSSS! I've been to the independence store twice already! Living 5 mins away isn't helping with the budget either. They have so much unique stuff and are a bit cheaper than tjmaxx in my opinion.
